As an influential facilitator and highly visible proponent of regional thinking in service delivery, MOEC is the Commonwealth’s primary advocate for collaboratives and the critical role they play in the Massachusetts educational system. MOEC:

  • Gives voice to regional needs and concerns
  • Partners with districts, schools, community organizations, higher education, and state leadership
  • Expands educational capacity statewide
  • Shares information and resources statewide
  • Provides consultation and planning
  • Conducts policy research and development

MOEC and our members work closely with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and its staff, hosting conversations with policy makers to provide collaborative and district perspective on initiatives and outreach efforts.

The Coalition for Special Education Funding presents annually to the Legislature and Legislative Aides about the need for full funding of Circuit Breaker. Two very eloquent parent speakers from The Education Cooperative (TEC) and the Concord Area Special Education (CASE) Collaborative spoke at the 2021 session.  You may view the video here.
